Rob Bernheimer, Mayor - Elected 2000, Current Term of Office 2008

council_bernheimerA local attorney, Mayor Rob Bernheimer has served on the Indian Wells City Council since July 2000 and is currently serving his second term as Mayor. Prior to becoming a council member, he was a member of the Indian Wells Architecture and Landscape Committee from 1999-2000 and served on the city's Planning Commission in 2000.

Mayor Bernheimer graduated with great distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He worked as a lobbyist in Sacramento representing a broad base of clients. In 1994, he was admitted to the State Bar of California and moved to the desert. In 1996, he co-founded Ferguson & Bernheimer, a government relations and business law oriented practice.

Active in a number of charitable and civic organizations, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of Desert Cancer Foundation, is Chair of the Palm Springs Desert Resort Communities Convention and Visitors Authority, Chair of the Cove Communities Services Commission, and member of the board of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership. Mayor Bernheimer and his wife Rosalind have one daughter. The family lives in Indian Wells.
